Earlier this year, Aberdeen Standard Investments, the leading global asset manager, has acquired a portfolio of 49 solar PV parks with a total capacity of 45 MW from Modus Group. Currently Modus Group is developing new portfolio of solar PV parks with a total capacity of 41 MW. Recently Modus Group announced that is expanding the geography of biogas activities and starting operations in Poland. In the upcoming year, over EUR 25 million will be invested in biogas project development in Poland.

An award "Market debut of the Year" went to Girteka Logistics, one of the leading transport and logistics companies in Europe, which has opened a transport base in Poznan, Poland. This is another important step for the company towards achieving its goals – to expand its business and to have 10 000 trucks and 20 000 drivers by 2021. The company has made an extension of its car fleet in Poland. “Girteka” is planning to have more than 300 trucks registered in Poznan this year, and about 750 drivers working with them. The total amount of this activity is estimatet on 60 mln EUR.

Next award "Market debut of the Year" was given to IZOSTAL S.A, which in July of 2019 won a contract for the supply of insulated DN700 steel pipes for an investment project carried out by AB Amber Grid: construction of a Poland-Lithuania gas interconnector (GIPL) on the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, approximately 170 km long. The value of the contract is 32 mln EUR – the biggest export contract of IZOSTAL S.A.

“Polska Marka Roku” (Polish brand of the year) went to LOT Polish Airlines, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. LOT is rapidly expanding its activities almost all over the world and is also active in Lithuania.

Vilnius Airport is associated with LOT, as the first airlines to fly to Vilnius were LOT. This happened in 1932. Daily flights were Warsaw-Vilnius-Warsaw. LOT history in Lithuania is very interesting. e.g. in 1937 The international Polish LOT line Budapest-Krakow-Warsaw-Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn-Helsinki was opened.

But even nowadays, LOT retains its leading position. It is worth seeing what the last three years look like: Right now we have 5 Vilnius-Warsaw flights per day. In 2016, LOT Polish Airlines launched flights from Palanga Airport. In 2018,  LOT also responded to the invitation to connect Kaunas with major European airports. For two years, flights between Kaunas and Warsaw have been operated six times a week. And since May of this year LOT has been operating direct flights from Vilnius to London City Airport. This new strategic direction has encouraged some investors to enter the Lithuanian market.
